Ce n'est pas la belle-mère à plaire.

Ce n'est pas une place à trouver dans un parking!

question

In French, can we use the future tense to talk about possibility? ex) Sometimes you'll be going along and you'll see no one you know; other times you'll see three friends in one day.

Does the past tense for present tense still have a mitigating function? ex) I just wanted to say hello.

Schedule:
Day One (Monday)
10-11 Language instruction: introductions, alphabet, numbers, articles, intro to -er verbs (personal pronouns)
11-12 Lesson on culture: learn about typical French foods and work together to make a menu for the two weeks.
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch. Review introductions, adding on how to say we are eating
12:30-1:30 Games
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice. Start personal dictionnaires.
Homework: Introduce yourself to your parents. Worksheets.

Day Two (Tuesday)
10-11 Language instruction: -er verbs, negation, numbers
11-11:30 Virtual tour on Google Maps
11:30-12 Make lunch. Learn new vocabulary from what we make.
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch.
12:30-1:30 Games: the French like le fitness, so this will be P.E.
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned (add to dictionnaires), speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Research a region or city in France.

Day Three (Wednesday)
10-11 Language instruction: lots of -er verbs
11-11:30 Presentations on regions or cities in France.
11:30-12 Make lunch while listening to French music
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch.
12:30-1:30 Games
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned (quiz format), speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Listen to French music (on my Grooveshark playlist) and vote for a favorite song.

Day Four (Thursday)
10-11 Language instruction: avoir, être, (don't forget -er verbs)
11-12 Get into groups and make music videos while Lauren makes lunch.
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch and watch music videos.
12:30-1:30 Vocabulary time
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. On my website, comment on the music videos in French. Prepare for presentation on a famous French person.

Day Five (Friday)
10-11 Language instruction: avoir, être, passé composé
11-11:30 Lesson on culture
11:30-12 Make lunch while listening to French music
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch. Review passé composé (qu'est-ce que tu as mangé?)
12:30-1 Presentations on famous French people.
1-1:30 Games (Movie? Madeline?)
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Read about Christmas in France. Send ten texts or SnapChats in French.

Day Six (Monday)
10-11 Language instruction: passé composé vs. imparfait
11-11:30 Craft time: make gifts to give away (we will draw names from a hat)
11:30-12:30 Christmas in France; includes presenting what was learned, gift exchange, and lunch
12:30-1:30 Games
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Teach a stuffed animal or doll. Write down questions you have.

Day Seven (Tuesday)
10-11 Language instruction: passé composé vs. imparfait
11-11:30 Write skits to perform after lunch
11:30-12:30 Make lunch while listening to French music; eat
12:30-1 Skit performances
1-1:30 Games
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Call a friend for language practice.

Day Eight (Wednesday)
10-11 Language instruction: vocabulary and practice, aller, passé composé with être. Create study guide books.
11-11:30 Lesson on culture
11:30-12:30 Make lunch while listening to French music; eat lunch.
12:30-1 Presentations on regions in France
1-1:30 Games
1:30-2 Review of all the language we learned, speaking practice
Homework: Worksheets. Research another region in France.

Day Nine (Thursday)
10-11 Language instruction: review
11-11:30 Lesson on culture
11:30-12 Make lunch while listening to French music
12:00-12:30 Eat lunch

Homework: Study guide for tomorrow's test. Bring food for tomorrow.

Day Ten (Friday) (LAST DAY!)
10-11 Final exam. Includes oral interview.
11-12 Party with lunch, games, music, etc. Please bring a treat to share.
12 Movie: Le petit Nicolas



Notes:
- We may not need to make lunch together every time. Have students bring their own lunch some days; make it for them some days.
- Should have students presenting every time.
- Some worksheets should ask for translations of new vocabulary words. I will show them dictionnaire.tv5.org.
- Other fun things to do: puppet shows, dance parties, obstacle courses, long-boarding, silent reading time, group collaboration, CRAFTS!!!,
- Crafts: study guide books, personal dictionaries, presentations on regions in France, presentations on holidays in France, bracelets, fashion, le fitness, growing plants, ART!!! - learn about famous French artists and art movements - OBVIOUSLY!
- How to pray in French. We should sing hymns every day and be able to pray by the end of the two weeks.

graillons le gratin.

j'aime le gratin. c'est une croûte de fromage ou de chapelure, et c'est délicieux; divin. hier soir j'ai fait le macaroni au fromage avec une chapelure faite à la maison. et on a bien graillé.

c'est une résolution de la nouvelle année de faire plus souvent la cuisine.

je vais aussi écrire plus souvent ici; j'ai plein de pensées à partager grâce à mon dictionnaire Linternaute sur l'iPhone qui m'apprend tout ce qui est courant ;)

OH LA LA mon rêve hier soir était une partie en français!! j'ai demandé aux gens, "êtes-vous courant?" et quand la réponse était oui, je leur ai demandé des nouvelles! et puis j'ai essayé d'enseigner cette stratégie à quelqu'un!

est-ce parce que j'ai assisté mon premier cours d'enseignement du français hier?
